Civics workshops for Middle and Elementary Educators in June

Middle School Educators: A two-day training titled Engaging Civics inMiddle School: Primary Sources, Video Games, & Project Citizen will be held on June 27 and 28 at the NH Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College in Manchester and the NH Supreme Court in Concord. Speakers will include Val McVey, Abigail Pietrantonio, Mike Trofi, Justice Robert Lynn, and Maureen McGuirl and topics will include integrating on-line tools like iCivics and Civics 360, use of primary sources, and Project Citizen featuring Val McVey and Mike Trofi. NHICE is partnering with the NH Bar Foundation, the NH Bar Association, and the NH Institute for Politics at Saint Anselm College to present this workshop.

Elementary Educators: Yes, it is possible to integrate civics into an elementary classroom without taking time away from other priorities. NHICE will offer a workshop on Seeds of Citizenship: Integrating Civics in Elementary School on June 29 featuring our own NH teachers Sue Tyrie, Louise Norway,  Luanne Genest, and others, along with Rebecca Valbuena, master elementary civics C3 teacher from California. This event will take place at the NH Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College.
